JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Mississippi Highway Patrol says two people died on state highways during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Patrol officials say the fatalities were reported in the Hattiesburg and Brookhaven districts.
Both accidents involved alchohol.
MHP officials say they worked a total of 167 accidents between 6 p.m. Wednesday and midnight Sunday.
Nearly 6,700 citations were written during the holiday, including 118 DUI related citations.
Troopers also report 23 felony arrests, including 12 on drug charges.
