TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Tupelo teenager has been charged following an altercation in the parking lot of a business over the weekend.

Virginia Flores, 18, was formally charged with aggravated assault on Monday.

Police were called to the Kroger Store on West Main Street after an alleged altercation around 12 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities say the victim was cut on the neck and taken to the hospital, but her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Investigators say initial reports point to road rage as a possible motive.

They say it appears the two women knew each other.
