TANGIPAHOA, La. (WTVA) --  A Tupelo man died after the pickup he was a passenger in was struck by an 18-wheeler on a Louisiana roadway Tuesday afternoon.

Louisiana State Police report Marcus Ingram, 40, died at the scene of the accident at the intersection of Highway 1057 and Highway 1061 around 3 p.m. near the Village of Tangipahoa.

A spokesperson says Ingram was a passenger in a pickup driven by Mark Konzelman, 29, of Osyka, Mississippi.

They say Konzelman apparently made a left turn in front of the 18-wheeler.

Both vehicles slid about 200 feet from the intersection after they collided.

Konzelman suffered moderate injuries in the accident.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
