TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — A local businessman and a member of a well-known Tupelo family has passed away.
Chuck Imbler, Jr. died Tuesday morning in Tupelo after a lengthy illness.
Imbler was instrumental as a member of the committee overseeing the city's Major Thoroughfare Program, the citizen-run effort to improve roads and reduce traffic in the All America City.
Tupelo Mayor Jack Reed, Jr. described Imbler as a "lifetime friend of mine and lifetime friend to the city of Tupelo."
"We will miss his input, his hard work and his commitment to the program," said Greg Pirkle, Major Thoroughfare Program committee chairman.
Visitation for Imbler will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Tupelo.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the church.
