TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) --The Tupelo Sportsplex goes green.

Five students from Tupelo High School, in partnership with Parks and Recreation, kicked off a recycling program Thursday.

The cans, decorated by each school in the district, will be placed around the fields during sporting events to make it easier for people to know which cans are for recyclables.

Students said they chose the Sportsplex because the park is one of the busiest parks in Tupelo.

White trash bags will be placed in those cans to make it easier to identify.
