Tropical Nut Chia Recharged Stix Mix recalled

ORLANDO, Fla. (WTVA) -- Tropical Nut and Fruit Company of Orlando, Florida is recalling five lots of Chia ReCharged Stix Mix in five ounce packages because it may contain undeclared peanuts.

The voluntary recall was issued by the company because people with allergies to peanuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction it they eat the product.

The recalled "Chia ReCharged Stix Mix” 5 ounce pouches were distributed between June 6 th, 2012 to October 23rd, 2012 to wholesalers and in retail stores nationwide.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

The products have the UPC Code 0 94184 01014 6.

The lot numbers affected include.

080212
081612

Affected packages can be identified by the best before date stamped on the back of the pouches above the bar code.

These best before date are from 01/20/13 to 04/17/13.
