TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- A double-murder trial scheduled to start in Tupelo on Tuesday has been delayed.

Attorney's for Travon Brown, 28, of Tupelo asked the judge for more time to prepare for trial.

He is charged with the shooting deaths of Cornelius Harris, 22,  and Felicia Ruffin, 36.

They were found dead at Harris's home on Chapman Street in Tupelo in September of 2011.

Authorities say Ruffin had been shot once and Harris had been shot three times.

No trial date has been set, but the district attorney's office expects it to be held during the next term of court.
