OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) — A former-Ecru police officer charged with taking money from people during traffic stops will go to trial in October.

A two-count federal indictment handed down in May accuses Jody Mac Rock of deprivation of civil rights.

Court documents say on two occasions Rock demanded money in lieu of writing a traffic citation.

The indictment states both persons were deprived of their constitutional right to be free of unreasonable search and seizure.

Rock pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The trial has been set for October 29 in U. S. District Court in Aberdeen.
