WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) -- Two men face burglary and drug charges following a Thanksgiving Day traffic stop in Clay County.

Sheriff Eddie Scott says deputies made the stop after a report of two suspicious men traveling in the western part of the county.

He says Tyler White, 22, of Eupora and Brad Avent, 30, of Maben were taken into custody after authorities found drugs and items taken from a home burglary in the area where they were stopped.

White is charge with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphenalia, and burglary of a dwelling.

Avent is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphenalia, and burglary of a dwelling.

Both men are being held without bond in the Clay County jail until they can make an initial appearance in justice court.

The investigation is continuing.

Scott reminds people to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
