TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- The driver of a tractor trailer was able to walk away from an accident that left his rig hanging off of a bridge on Highway 45.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. on Monday at Highway 45 and Barnes Crossing Road in Tupelo.
Police, sheriff's officers, firefighters, ambulance responders all rushed to the mishap.
The driver of the truck, Joe Sisk, tells WTVA.com that he was headed from Tennessee to Shannon, Mississippi, when he says that the wind just picked up the trailer and gently set it down.
Mainly the cab of the semi remained on the bridge, while the trailer stretched down to the ground below the overpass between the bridges.
A corner of the trailer rested in the gravel and dirt on the side of Barnes Crossing Road just feet from the pavement.
Sisk says that he was not injured in the accident.
The 18-wheeler is dangling over Barnes Crossing Road from the Highway 45 overpass.
