PONTOTOC, Miss. (WTVA) -- Toyota employees are celebrating a team building activity. It's an opportunity for employees and their families to spend the day at Howard Stafford Park.
"Shed the work clothes. Come out here! Put on your play clothes! Have a good time with the family and friends. Just enjoy each others ompany from a different aspect of life," said employee Jesse Corley.
The spring outing also affords family members of employees a chance to interact and meet with other families.
"We have a lot of friends with Toyota. The kids love playing with other kids its just a great family fun time today and a beautiful day," said Cindy Corley, Jesse's wife.
Both Toyota and Howard Stafford Park have a close working relationship. In fact, last fall, members of Toyota came out to the park and worked on National Public Lands Day.
"We had 700 of our team members and their families that came out and helped spruce up the park with painting, installations and etc," said John Raymer, general-manager Toyota Motor-Manufactoring.
"We planted flowers, flowers for the butterflies, bushes, trees and I was really excited to come see how everything is grown up. It's doing really well," said employee Aundrea Coutcher.
"It's fun for the kids," adds Jerry Bailey, Toyota employee. "Everybody gets a chance to play together and even the adults get to act like kids."
The plant manager says the event is a morale booster for employees.
