MANTACHIE, Miss. (WTVA) -- The search is on for thieves who got away with dozens of guns from Dulaney's Gun Shop.
Different types of handguns and long guns were stolen from the Mantachie business about a month ago.
Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi will pay up to $1000 for information that leads to an arrest.
"It made me mad that somebody would do him like that," said Mike Kilgore, customer.
Kilgore said he's been coming to the shop for years to get his guns repaired and while his gun wasn't stolen, the burglary still has him upset.
"It had to be somebody that just don't care about anything," said Kilgore.
Owner O.R. Dulaney said he spends a lot time working in the shop, so it didn't take him long to realize something was terribly wrong.
"They used a crow bar and tore the lock up," Dulaney said.
Dulaney's shop sits right behind his home. He said he was asleep when it all happened.
"There was paper all over. I believe they went through every paper in this house. They got my log books and approximately 30 guns," Dulaney said.
He said investigators found ammunition on the ground in front of the pizza resturant located right behind his shop.
Dulaney believes more than two people broke into the store through the back door and carried the guns and close to 75 pounds of ammunition to a vehicle.
"It would take a long time for one or two men-you know three or four guns at the most- it would take several trips to deliver them down there," said Dulaney.
It will cost him thousands of dollars to replace the guns and he tears up when Kilgore offers to help pay for the guns. He said it's the sentimental value each gun has to its owner that he won't be able to replace.
