LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) -- What's with the sign?
That was the collective cry of residents who live close to a newly-annexed area of Tupelo.
New city limits signs were recently put in place following the annexation of some 16 square miles.
One of those signs is now located approximately 15-hundred feet from its original location.
Public Works Director Sid Russell says residents became concerned when they first saw the sign because they thought their neighborhood had been annexed.
"The city limit line runs down the center line of those two points where the sign once was and where it is now and a lot of people were thinking that North Ridge subdivision was in the city limits which it is not," Russell said.
White marks on the road indicate where the previous sign was posted.
