STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Starkville school teacher has resigned following his arrest last week.
School officials say the resignation of Jason Young, 29, is effective immediately.
Young was suspended with pay Friday after school officials learned of his arrest by Oktibbeha County deputies on October 21.
Young was charged of DUI-second, assaulting a law officer, fleeing from a law officer, malicious mischief, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Starkville school officials say they did not become aware of the arrest until Thursday.
