TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — Progress is being made in restoring electricity to people in Tupelo who have been in the dark since Monday's tornado.
Tupelo Water and Light says only 600 customers remain without power as of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Crews have been working since Monday to restore a major Tennessee Valley Authority transmission line, which runs across Highway 45 south of Highway 78.
That line was expected to be restored Wednesday evening.
