NEW HOPE, Miss. (WTVA) -- A New Hope man has been arrested following the shooting of two Lowndes County deputies Tuesday.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigations says Kenneth Marion Coscia, 30, was charged with three counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and one count of shooting into a dwelling.
Authorities say Deputies Larry Swearingen and Clint Sims were shot after they went to Coscia's residence to check on the condition of someone inside.
Another officer's clothing was grazed by a bullet during the shooting.
Authorities say the deputies did have permission to enter the home.
Both deputies were transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle and were in stable condition Wednesday.
Coscia is being held on a $3 million bond.
