TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- Police have a suspect under arrest in connection with a Saturday stabbing in a grocery store parking lot.
Police said around noon a woman was slashed in the throat and neck outside of Kroger at Crosstown after an alleged altercation.
Authorities say the victim was cut and taken to the hospital, but her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Law enforcement also said that the female suspect fled in a white cargo van with another person.
Maj. Jackie Clayton confirmed Saturday night after 10 p.m. that a suspect had been arrested, but it's not clear whether another suspect remains at large.
Clayton said initial reports pointed to road rage as a possible motive, but now it appears the female suspect and victim knew each other.
The incident remains under investigation by the Tupelo Police Department.
