LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) — Lee County supervisors did not vote an a proposed increase in the garbage fees during a meeting Thursday morning.

County Administrator Sean Thompson says the board delayed action because District 5 supervisor Billy Joe Holland was unable to attend because of a family illness.

Supervisors last month proposed raising rates an additional $3.50 per month for residents.

Commercial customers would see their rates increase by 10 percent.

Supervisors say they will take the issue back up at their next meeting on December 2.
