STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- Starkville residents are reminded about a forced power outage in the city Sunday morning.
Tennessee Valley Authority crews will tie in a new high-voltage electric line to increase the amount of available electricity to the city.
Work on the $20 million project is scheduled to being around midnight on May 18 and last until 5 a.m. on May 19.
City, county, and Mississippi officials are making plans for the outage.
In addition to this new transmission line, TVA recently completed a Clayton Village 161-kilovolt Switching Station adjacent to the 4-County Electric Power Association Lakeside 161-kV Substation.
In order to complete the installation on that project, a second outage is scheduled for the overnight hours of June 23.
