ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Monroe County sheriff is warning residents of a secret shopper scam with a new twist.

Cecil Cantrell says one of his employees received a Federal Express package containing a fake money order for $955.

The address on the package was for Presence Quality Control USA in Detroit, Michigan.

He says it appears to be a U. S. Postal Service issued money order.

A letter in the envelope instructed his employee to cash the money order and keep $100.

The remaining money was to be mailed to an address in Port-au-Prince Haiti.

Cantrell says it is the first time he has heard of someone using Federal Express to try and scam residents.

If you receive a similar package, he encourages you to contact your local law enforcement agency.
