TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) _ The Tupelo Public School District has rested its portion of a hearing into the termination of choral director Calvin Ellis.

The hearing was held behind closed doors for a couple of hours Thursday morning.

When the doors were opened again, Ellis was asked about copyright permissions he did not get for some songs that lead to the cancellation of a performance.

He was also asked about his expenditures from a booster club account.

Ellis is attempting to get his job back.

His attorney will begin calling witnesses Thursday afternoon.
