TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — Jack Reed Jr. says he does not plan to seek a second term as Tupelo's mayor.

His intentions were made public in a message on the city's website that was published Sunday.

In that message, Reed said his 2009 election to public office was never intended to be a lifetime career change.

He also expressed a desire to spend more time with his family and the family business.
