CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) — Qualifying ended Friday for the upcoming municipal election in Corinth.

There are only three contested races for the September 16 Democratic primary.

Ralph Dance and Ben Gann will face each other in the race for police chief.  The winner will face Republican Fred Gooch to replace outgoing chief David Lancaster.

For alderman-at-large, incumbent Mike Hopkins will run against Jennifer McCoy.  The winner will take on Republican John Orman.

The race for alderman in Ward 4 pits incumbent J.C. Hill against Steve Hill.  There's no opposition awaiting the winner in the October 14 general election.

Mayor Tommy Irwin and the remaining members of the Board of Aldermen are unopposed.
