LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA)--Lee County Sheriff department is giving citizens an opportunity to rid their homes of expired and unused prescription drugs.

The department will be taking part in the DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

This public service is free and anonymous, no questions asked or identification required.

Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinets.

Collection location will be the Lee County Sheriff Department Friday April 26 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Everyone is invited to take part in the program.
