BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- A case involving a break-in and theft in Prentiss County led to an arrest in a bordering state.

Prentiss County deputies say they attempted to serve an arrest warrant issued out of Monroe County for Ryan Patrick Perkins, 24, but he fled into a wooded area on County Road 5005.

Authorities say Perkins later broke into a nearby house, stealing guns, clothing and a 2002 GMC pickup truck before leaving.

He was later arrested by deputies in Marion County, Alabama when he attempted to sell the stolen guns.

The guns and the pickup were recovered.

Deputies say Perkins faces charges of burglary of a dwelling, two counts of grand larceny and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in Prentiss County, as well as multiple felony charges in Marion County.

He remains in custody in Alabama but will be extradited to face his charges in Mississippi.

Perkins also has a hold placed on him with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
