Police investigate store burglary

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- Tupelo police are investigating an early morning break-in at a local store.

Detective Captain Rusty Haynes says they received a report of a burglary at the Family Dollar Store on West Main Street near Crosstown around 3 a.m.

Store management tells WTVA.com someone broke out the front window of the business with a brick.

They say the person attempted to open the register and the store's safe.

Haynes says he does not believe anything was taken during the burglary.

The break-in remains under investigation.
