GUNTOWN, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a plane that made an emergency landing on Highway 45 in Guntown shortly after 8 o'clock on Sunday night.
WTVA News has learned that there were two men on board who are the co-owners of the Cessna 150.
The pilot, J.J. Jasper tells WTVA News that the engine went dead just after 8 p.m. and he had no choice but to land on the highway.
Officials say there were no cars in the path of the plane when it landed, and authorities say no one was injured.
Officials say the plane landed safely on the roadway, coming to a stop on the exit ramp.
A wrecker has towed the plane to a nearby airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration is expected to arrive on Tuesday for further investigation.
