COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- Pipes burst earlier today at the Golden Triangle Regional Airport, said executive director Mike Hainsey.
Around 4:45 a.m., employees opened the terminal to find nearly one inch of water on the floor.
Hainsey said employees were able to mobilize everyone and had TSA screenings in a separate part of the building.
Despite the disturbance, all planes took off according to schedule.
Specialists were called to help with cleaning up the water. Employees with Robinson Janitorial arrived at the scene around 6 a.m. and were able to have all water soaked up at 9 a.m, said Hainsey.
Hainsey did not report any extensive damage due to the burst pipes. He said they are just waiting on the floors to dry.
