LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) — No one was hurt when a home went up in flames Friday afternoon near Lake Piomingo.
The fire started sometime before 5 p.m. on Auburn Road.
Mooreville-Eggville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Ron Witte said flames were coming out of the front and back of the home when firefighters arrived. The Unity Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the fire.
Witte added it looked like the fire may have started with a light switch, leading him to believe the fire was an accident.
According to the fire chief, at least two people were inside the home when the fire started.
Everyone inside made it out safely. However, the home was heavily damaged.
