JASPER, Ala. (WTVA) -- The Alabama Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a pedestrian Saturday morning on Highway 78.
The Daily Mountain Eagle newspaper reports Michael Bisharn Roberson, 44, of Birmingham died after he was hit by an 18-wheeler around 4:30 a.m.
The newspaper reports Roberson was in the west bound lanes on Highway 78 between Highway 69 and Highway 269 when he was hit by the truck.
An AHP spokesperson says Roberson was hit when he apparently attempted to walk across the roadway.
The driver of the truck, Buddy Smith, 49, of Aberdeen, was not injured.
