GRENADA, Miss. (WTVA) -- A portion of Highway 8 near Interstate 55 was dedicated to the late Grenada Police Officer Captain John Wayne Haddock.
Signs were unveiled Friday morning commemorating the spot where Haddock lost his life.
The Grenada officer was killed a year ago, while on duty.
He was killed while putting down road spikes to stop a car involved in a high speed chase.
The car crashed into the squad car Haddock was in.
It sent his squad car tumbling down a hill near I-55 and Highway 8 in Grenada.
Haddock was just 50-years old.
