JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — Mississippi schoolchildren have voted, and President Barack Obama is the winner of their 2012 mock presidential election.
Students across the Magnolia State participated in the election between President Obama and challenger Mitt Romney.
Obama got 55 percent of the more than 104,000 votes cast while Romney got 45 percent.
The election was part of the Promote the Vote program by the Mississippi secretary of state's office.
That program aims to get young people involved in the political process.
