WASHINGTON (WTVA) — A spokesman for U.S. Rep. Alan Nunnelee said the congressman is recovering from heart surgery.
Communications Director Jordan Russell said Mississippi's 1st Congressional District representative underwent the planned procedure Monday at The Cleveland Clinic.
On Tuesday, Russell described the problem as a condition with a heart valve that needed to be corrected.
He went on to say that the hope is for Nunnelee to return to Washington next week.
