New mayor elected in Hamilton, Alabama

HAMILTON, Ala. (WTVA) — Voters in Hamilton, Alabama, have elected a new mayor.

Unofficial results from Tuesday's runoff show Wade Williams defeated Scotty Sanderson 1,220 to 967.

Frances Knight, Lynn Mitchell, Tim Holcomb and Tami Lewis Williams all won runoffs for spots on the City Council.

Knight is the only incumbent on that list.  Holcomb defeated incumbent Paul Stidham.

In Sulligent, Alabama, there was only one runoff. Councilwoman Cynthia Summerville defeated Jimmy George to retain her seat.
