GRENADA, Miss. (WTVA) -- Investigators believe the driver of a vehicle involved in a deadly accident in Grenada County Tuesday afternoon may have fallen asleep while driving.
MHP Sgt. Ben Williams says Diana Carroll, 67, of Paducah, Kentucky was at the wheel of a Lincoln Continental traveling north on Interstate 55 near mile marker 200 around 4:30 p.m.
He says the car veered off the roadway to the left, struck a guard rail, and flipped three or four times before coming to rest upside down.
Carroll was wearing a seatbelt and was killed in the crash.
Williams says Robert Daniels, 65, and his wife Brenda Daniels, 51, of Paducah, Kentucky were ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene of the accident.
He says alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the accident.
The wreck is still under investigation.
