PONTOTOC, Miss. (WTVA) -- Starting Tuesday and ending Wednesday morning, the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Department, along with other law enforcement agencies in the area, picked up 21 people on various drug charges.
"This is all from Pontotoc County. We had all over the county. We had several other agencies: Ecru, Pontotoc, Sherman, North Mississippi Narcotics and the Sherriff's Department," said Pontotoc County Sheriff Leo Mask.
"We were making buys off these people who were known drug dealers who were selling drugs and stuff. When we got this many people charged, we started doing a roundup and picking them up. There will be more arrests," said Mask.
The sheriff added most of the arrests involved marijuana, crack cocaine, methamphetamine and painkillers.
