UNION COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Saltillo woman has died after a two-vehicle wreck late Sunday morning in Union County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Trooper Ray Hall said it happened at approximately 11 a.m. on Highway 370, about a half-mile east of Highway 30.

Hall said it appeared Steven Raines, 34, of Dumas, was traveling westbound when he apparently collided head-on into an eastbound vehicle driven by Christian N. Nix, 27, of Saltillo.

Raines was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo with serious injuries.

Nix was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

Two of Nix's children -- a seven-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl -- were airlifted to LeBonheur Children's Medical Center in Memphis with serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by the highway patrol.
