More cases of West Nile reported in Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- The record number of West Nile Virus cases in Mississippi continues to climb.

The Mississippi State Department of Health reports 12 new cases this week, including a new case in Lowndes County.

The new numbers bring the state's total to 225 cases in 2012, including five deaths.

The MSDH only reports laboratory-confirmed cases to the public.
