ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- That's exactly what the Monroe County School District is expected to receive with help from the Monroe County Board of Supervisors.

Supervisors are moving forward with plans to acquire a Community Development Block Grant from the Mississippi Development Authority.

The money is to be used toward the construction of a $2,000,000 gym.

"With help from this grant, that will help them move forward on construction of a gym that was to replace the one that was destroyed in last year's tornado," District 1 Monroe County Supervisor Doug Wiggins said.

The gym will also serve as a community safe house.
