JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA/AP) - In a 64 to 55 vote, the Mississippi House of Representatives approved a bill expanding charter schools within the state.
House Bill 369 was voted on around 1:00 a-m. Thursday, after last week's approval of a charter schools bill by the Mississippi Senate.
The House and Senate must now agree on a version of the bill to go before Governor Phil Bryant, who has already voiced support for the expansion of charter schools within the state.
