Military contracts awarded to Tullahoma Industries

TULLAHOMA, Tenn. (WTVA) -- A Tennessee company with a manufacturing facility in Marion County, Alabama has been awarded two contract with the U. S. Army.

Tullahoma Industries received orders totaling $258 million over the next five years to produce combat trousers for the U. S. Army.

The company has been in business since 1969, and has been making the same trousers for the military for the past five years.

Tullahoma also received an order earlier this year for $23 million to produce army combat uniform trousers through the end of 2014.

The company employes 165 workers at the manfucturing plant in Brilliant.

The work will be split between the Marion County facility and plants in Tennessee.
