COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Columbus man shot in the head during a home invasion robbery Sunday has died.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says Quinton Hill, 31, died at a Jackson hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Police say Hill was in his home on Fourth Avenue South around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning when a man entered the home and and shot him.

Another person in the home was also robbed, but was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black male with his face partially covered.

Merchant says an autopsy will be performed today in Jackson.

As the investigation continues, police ask anyone with information to call the Columbus Police Department or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers.
