COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Columbus man has been sentenced to federal prison for possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute.

Adam Caleb Owens, 35, entered the plea in U. S. District Court last November.

Owens was arrested at his home on 3rd Avenue North by Lowndes County deputies in March of 2011.

A federal indictment charged him with possession of more than 28 grams of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.

During a sentencing hearing on Thursday, Owens was ordered to serve 60 months in prison and five years probation.
