COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Columbus man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the shooting death of a man in 2006.

Lee Major Wilder, Jr., 22, entered the plea in Lowndes County Circuit Court on Monday.

Wilder was charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Cornelius Cunningham, 29, at a home on 14th Avenue North in Columbus in September of 2008.

At the time, authorities say Cunningham was shot in the head and robbed.

Wilder was sentenced to serve 20 years in prison.

He also received an additional five year sentence after pleading guilty to simple assault on a law enforcement officer.

Wilder is currently in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
