STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Starkville man has been charged with aggravated DUI and other charges after he left the scene of a traffic accident Saturday in Oktibbeha County.
Investigators have charged Dana Jones Roberson, 54, of Starkville with four counts of aggravated DUI, leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries and careless driving.
Deputies were called to 16th Section Road Saturday for an accident involving injuries.
Witnesses told investigators they saw a pickup traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit another vehicle head on.
The truck then ran into the rear of a third vehicle.
Eight people were transported to the the hospital with injuries, including four juveniles.
Roberson left the scene of the accident and was arrested a short time later.
He is currently being held in the Oktibbeha County jail awaiting an initial appearance in court.
Authorities saw more charges could be filed in the case as the investigation continues.
