TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Plantersville man is being held on a $1 million bond after authorities say he attempted to run over the sheriff and a deputy.

Sheriff Jim Johnson says he and another deputy responded to a home on County Road 1113 to serve a warrant on Phillip Eric Davis, 25, on Friday.

Johnson says when they approached the residence, Davis exited the back of the home and got into his car.

He is then accused of attempting to run over the sheriff and the deputy.

Johnson says he and the other law officer fired several shots into the tires of the car to immobilize it.

No one was injured in the incident.

Davis is also charged with five counts of credit card fraud and one count of felony evading.
