COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- A man has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault following a shooting in Columbus Thursday night.

Police officials say officers were called to a home on Ash Street around 9:45 p.m.

They found Zachary Johnson and Tamarcus Thomas had each been shot.

Officers later arrested Joel Jones, 21, of Columbus with the assistance of Lowndes County deputies.

He is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.

Johnson is in critial condition in a Jackson hospital with gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

Thomas was treated and released.

The case remains under investigation, but a police report says the shootings may have been the result of a day long disturbance at the home.
