ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- A high speed chase that started in Lamar County, Alabama ended with the arrest of a man on Wolfe Road north of Caledonia.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says James Newton Hughes, 28, of Hamilton was found in the yard of a home after he attempted to flee on foot.

Cantrell says around 9:30 Tuesday morning, deputies assisted Lamar County authorities who were involved in a pursuit with Hughes.

He surrendered without incident.

He is also on an investigative hold for Lamar County authorities.
