COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) — A man is being held in the Lowndes County jail because he's accused of leading law enforcement on a chase from Mississippi into Alabama.

Lowndes County Chief Deputy Marc Miley said a deputy found Nathan Kyle Coleman tearing up a field on Tabernacle Road with his truck.  A vandalized tractor was also found in the field.

According to Miley, deputies were unsuccessful at first trying to stop Coleman's truck once it went on the road.

The chief deputy added Coleman eventually gave up in Alabama after trying twice to ram a deputy's car with his vehicle.

Coleman is charged with felony eluding, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, felony malicious mischief and arson.
