DORSEY, Miss. (WTVA) -Residents of the Dorsey community gathered at the school Saturday morning, only there was no class, just a fundraiser.
For the second year in a row the school is raising money to purchase new playground equipment.
This year's fundraiser was moved inside the school gymnasium with the threat of rain in the area.
A big turnout is credited to a wide variety of things on sale.
"We've got homemade crafts; there's crosses and different crafts that people has made," said Lisa Darracott, Parent-Teacher Organization treasurer. "People have been setting up beauty control, homemade food. We have some clothing vendors, yard sales. There's just all kinds of things."
The school raises proceeds from the vendors who pay a fee to come in and set up shop and sell their merchandise.
